Andrew Collins Joins the Collins│Johnson group as Counsel

Washington, D.C.

July 1, 2013 - The Collins│Johnson group is pleased to announce that Andrew M. Collins has joined our firm as Counsel.

Previously, Collins served with the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs where he focused on a range of issues including investor protection, nuclear counter-proliferation sanctions and the welfare of U.S. exporters. He also gained invaluable experience supporting committee staff on the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and the Consumer Protection Act, with an emphasis on the rule making of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission, as well as the Federal Reserve's oversight of systemically important financial institutions.

Collins holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and studied European Union (E.U.) banking law at King's College in London, England. While in London, he served with the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) legal department of Northern Trust bank, where he focused on U.S. tax law, Basel III, and E.U. investment fund directives for sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors. In 2009, Collins was a member of President Barack Obama's inaugural class of White House interns.

"Andrew's impressive banking and finance background, coupled with his private-sector, congressional and legal credentials, are assets to our clients and firm. I am delighted to welcome him as part of the Collins│Johnson team," said founding partner Broderick Johnson.

Collins received a B.S. degree in finance and an M.B.A. from Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he served as its Student Government Association President and was a Board of Trustees member. He also served as President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's FAMU Chapter from 2006-2008. While at Boston College Law School, Collins served as the Black Law Students Association's Chapter Vice President.

In April of 2011, founding partners Art Collins and Broderick Johnson joined forces to offer political, policy and communications strategies to corporations, executives and other entities engaged with the public sector at all levels. As the firm continues to grow, Art Collins expressed his enthusiasm about its future.

"With Andrew's addition, the depth and breadth of our talented team continues to grow. In addition to providing a range of financial and legal expertise, he broadens our ability to develop and implement strategies in new and creative ways," Collins said.
