February 18, 2014 – The Collins│Johnson group has officially changed its name to theGROUP.
Driven by a mission to provide the most complete political, policy and communications solutions, the new corporate name reflects a deep commitment to the firm’s highest values and evokes the qualities of team, integrity and diversity that differentiate the company in the marketplace.
“Our firm has always been rooted in a strong belief in its people and the trust our clients place in us,” said Managing Partner Art Collins. “At the end of the day, we win through the power of theGROUP. It is how we add value to each relationship and work to deliver dynamic results to every client, every time.”
Two recent additions to theGROUP’s team of experts underscore the firm’s continued growth and impact. Last week, senior White House aide Nicole Isaac joined the firm as a Principal. Isaac was most recently a Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, where she guided President Obama’s policy priorities before the Judiciary, Financial Services and Appropriations Committees of the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to her work with the Obama Administration, Isaac was Floor Counsel to Senate Assistant Majority Leader Richard Durbin (D-IL) and a lead Counsel to the Democratic Caucus Committee on Organization, Study and Review.
Darrel Thompson, a former Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), joined the firm as a Principal in October of last year. Regarded as one of the Senate’s top former leadership aides, Thompson is also running for the Ward 6 seat on the D.C. City Council.
“We are excited about our direction and the message behind our new name,” said Collins. “It symbolizes who we are – a diverse team of experienced advisors assisting our clients as they navigate through complex administrative, legislative and regulatory environments. We add value by providing integrated communications, public policy and political strategies designed to yield both measurable and favorable outcomes.”
This is the first brand name change for the Washington-based consulting firm. However, the firm’s evolution spans over two decades. A veteran of the capital’s political and business scene, theGROUP’s Managing Partner Art Collins has been connecting the public and private sectors for the benefit of both since he launched his first company, Public Private Partnership, Inc.
In 2011, Collins along with former partner Broderick Johnson, established the Collins│Johnson group now known as theGROUP.
