WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 5, 2018) – theGROUP DC, LLC, a leading government relations firm based in Washington, D.C., today announced the promotion of Andrew Collins to General Counsel and Michelle Hernandez to Senior Associate.
Collins, who most recently served as Senior Counsel at theGROUP, will serve as the firm’s chief legal counsel and compliance officer. He will continue to manage the company’s compliance needs and trainings, analyze and execute all contracts, and advise company personnel on all legal matters. He will also continue to provide clients with strategic advice and solutions on a broad range of regulatory and legislative issues.

Collins received his law degree from Boston College Law School and an MBA from Florida A&M University where he was elected Student Government Association President and served on the University’s Board of Trustees. He currently serves as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Washington Bar Association and its educational foundation.
theGROUP DC, LLC also today announced the promotion of Michelle Hernandez to Senior Associate.
Hernandez, who joined the firm in 2015 as an intern, most recently served as Associate. Michelle served within the office of Senator Charles Schumer through the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Congressional Internship Program. As Senior Associate, she will provide regulatory, legislative, and business research and analytical support, as well as provide advice to the firm’s clients on many of today’s most pressing policy issues.

Michelle Hernandez received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Brown University. She currently serves on the executive board of the Brown University Latino Alumni Council, and was recently appointed as chair of a new First Generation Alumni Advisory Committee.
